Need some ideas on how to use your Foundations topics for your studies at home? We have published some curriculum guides in the past (check them out here), however this semester, we do not have a curriculum guide for sale.  I am going share our weekly plans here on the blog!!  They won’t be as detailed, but I hope they will still help you plan out your week.

Here are the things we are working on this week.  These plans are for a 5th and 6th grader ( 10 & 11 years old)

History:

Day 1 – Read about Industrial Revolution in the Kingfisher Encyclopedia pg. 296-297.  Kids take notes as we read and put notes in their history notebooks. Older kids can turn this into a summary.

Day 2 – Read Kingfisher Encyclopedia pg. 340-341.  Kids take notes as we read and put notes in their history notebooks. Older kids can turn this into a summary.

Day 3 & 4 – Research each of the three inventors and inventions mentioned in our history sentence.  Over the last two days of the week we will draw or print out pictures of the inventors and inventions and write down some interesting facts about each of them in our history notebook.
