This is a great time of year to start a new habit of gratitude and thankfulness in your home.  I don’t know about you, but I need to consider the good in all things! Our homeschool, our health, and our future will all change for the better as we focus on the goodness of God and all he has blessed us with! Combining scripture and journaling is a great way to bring perspective and thankfulness into your home.

Last year, I made a list of 30 scriptures that tell us to be grateful or have something to be thankful for, and this year I challenge myself and you to join in again. Each day, just read the scripture.  Try to memorize it.  Write it down.  Use the verse to help you think of something else you’re thankful for! Sometimes a daily habit is hard to add in to my day, so my goal is to get through these 30 days by Dec. 31st.  It’s my end-of-the-year Resolution! 🙂

Day 1 –  I Samuel 12:24 (ESV)

Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you!

What a great verse to start with! I challenge you to write down this verse and ponder the words.  Read the next verse and see what the alternative could be. Use the verse to think of something you’re grateful for and write it down in your Gratitude Journal.

For my journal entry: Today I’m thankful for the great (and small) things the Lord has done for me….because without God, I would probably be the most depressed and sad person.  But with God, I know that I’m loved, cared for, and protected.

I can sit here and think of so many big and small things that God has done! In my own journal I’ll write some down…but you get the idea!

ONE verse, ONE thing you’re thankful for today.

I'd love to hear from you...tell me what you think!
