Ready to Read?

Looking to expand your read aloud books or have a kid that loves chapter books? If you’re like me, then you’re always looking for something of quality and also engaging to suggest to your kids, or your other homeschool friends! This is an amazing list from All About Reading!  While I’m familiar with many of these, there were some that I didn’t know of and I’m excited to try!

I had forgotten about Elenore Estes, but loved her classic book, One Hundred Dresses! Her series, The Moffats was one that I wanted to read with my older kids and forgot about! I’ll be getting the first book in this series for my youngest for sure!

Besides what’s listed here, I would also suggest the Magic Treehouse series, The Boxcar Children, and My Father’s Dragon as great beginner chapter books.  I’ve also enjoyed (but not finished) the Tales from Dimwood Forest series by Avi.

Chapter Book Series Library Lists

Want to know more about how to set up your book bin? It’s a great way to make sure you’re not forgetting to include these wonderful chapter books! I use my book bin for our history, science, bible, and anything else I want to have right in front of me on a daily basis! Check out this post about how I use Classical Conversations Foundations (and I talk about my Book Bin).

And if you need some ideas for Challenge (High School) level books, check these out.  This is a list to the audio versions, but it’s also just a great list of classic American Literature book ideas!
